Texxi is a shared taxi system piloting in the UK. Texxi trips are ordered via cellular telephone messenging.

The Yellow Taxibus, run by the Stagecoach transport company in Scotland from 2003 to 2005, provided door-to-door shared taxibus transport along a fixed commuter route from Edinburgh to Dunfermline (a distance of around 18 miles). Though this Yellow Taxibus pilot scheme was closed down after two years due to low profitability, passenger feedback was very positive. Note that the IGT taxibus concept is more flexible and more comprehensive than the Yellow Taxibus, as IGT is based on a fleet of fully free-roaming taxibuses, available for all journeys from any pick-up points and destinations within a region; by contrast, the Yellow Taxibus operated a fixed city-to-city route, with some route modifications at either end of the journey to enable a door-to-door service.
